The Siran River, which flows into the valley from the Mandagucha Glacier in its upper reaches, is the source of the valley's name. The region is traversed by the river before it eventually joins the Indus River close to the Tarbela Dam. The valley is situated in the Pakhli region of Mansehra District.
Tourism
Siran Valley is considered one of the most beautiful valleys in Pakistan due to its natural environment, which includes snow-capped peaks, lush green meadows, and dense pine and deodar forests. Hikers, nature lovers, and adventure seekers flock to the valley because it offers a more tranquil and less commercialized alternative to other northern Pakistani tourist destinations.
Peaks
Numerous significant peaks that are popular trekking destinations surround the valley. The highest peak in Siran Valley is Churko Peak, which is 4,265 meters high. The trek, which traverses meadows, streams, and glacial scree slopes over the course of three to four days, is regarded as challenging.
The "Prayer Mat of Moses" is the name of the valley's second-highest peak, Musa ka Musalla (4,100 meters). Locals regard it as a place of spiritual significance. On clear days, the trek affords panoramic views of Kashmir, Kaghan, and Kohistan, as well as Nanga Parbat.
Khanda Peak, also known as Khunda Top, is a prominent conical peak that can be found near Khunda Gali at the northern end of the valley. It is approximately 3,900 meters high. Some observers have compared it to K2 because of its striking shape.
Sohni Sar is a 3,900-meter peak near the Allai Valley in the catchment area of the Siran River. The name means "Sohni's water pond" in the local dialect, referring to a body of water near the summit.

The Munro Hiking Trail, an old trail, was reopened in 2022 to encourage adventure tourism. The 66-kilometer trail was originally developed between 1900 and 1905 by A.V. Munro, a British forest conservator. It starts at Kund Bangla (at an altitude of 2,250 meters) and winds through the mountainous region between the Siran and Kaghan Valleys, ending at Kamal Ban in the Naran Valley. The trail passes through forests, meadows, and historic rest houses, including those at Shaheed Pani.
